A few blocks from the beach this morning, there was a curtain of dense fog. Moving closer toward the water, the fog was enveloping. There was an eerie presence there. Ominous.
Imagine this with low visibility.
It was an ambience fit for an Alfred Hitchcock film. Few seagulls, too. They don't like rough waves. But the surfers do. They were out as well.
It was a quiet stroll along the tattered sea wall. The sea wall sustained a lot of damage from this hostile winter. Yards along 1 A were flooded. Construction crews are aplenty doing the requisite repairs. One home in particular was tranformed. Old days-gone-by blue asbestos shingles were replaced with grey ones and lots of windows. A photograph will be taken on a clear day to provide the rest of the story.
By 6 p.m. tonight, it will be raining. 1A will probably flood again and construction work will halt briefly. April showers are late this year. One would think the snow would have provided enough moisture for the ground. It is dry everywhere.
The rain is welcomed.
