Back Out!

It is absolutely no fun having your back out.  Two days ago I lifted a few things, that ordinarily should not be an issue.  I must note at this point that I have a lousy musculo-skeletal system.  I realized that at the age of forty, Thanksgiving Day actually, when I was lifting a 20 pound turkey into the oven.  Instant, sharp pain and two weeks flat on my back.

This has occurred off and on since.  It usually occurs with some kind of stress - mostly that I am overdoing something.  Yet, I feel no stress other than the plumbing leak.  Yep, that did it!  As well as hauling the utility vacuum from the garage into the house. And adjusting my mattress because the pillows kept getting stuck between the mattress and the headboard.  I flipped the mattress last month and clearly, it is something I need not do.  But who else will?  Life is about accommodation and letting go.  This is something young folks do not know too much about.  Especially now.  Everything is fast.  They, like I, will learn soon enough.

Fortunately,  I had seen the chiropractor last week who did a few adjustments after my NH trip.  I was  scheduled to see him today which was good timing.  Little did I know I would barely be able to drive or much less get out of the car.  If necessary, I would have crawled there.

Hopefully, next week, I can get to the grocery store.  It has been almost six weeks since I was there for decent shopping.  For me, that means a trip to Asheville.  Of course, I would stop by my favorite children's clothing store, Just Ducky in the Soul's Crescent area of Asheville when I am there.  Love that store and I always buy clothes for my grands then.  Expensive, but what the heck.

The chiropractor cautioned me to really take it easy.  Being gone 3 weeks does not lend itself to that too well.  Nor does an empty refrigerator.

It could always be worse.
