HGV - Welcome!

If you know me well enough, you know I love babies.  Children.  Just three weeks and one day ago, my daughter had a little girl.  Since I have been away for that time, I thought I might share one of my favorite photos of her now that I am home and on my laptop.

This darling weighed in at under six pounds.  She is over that now.  Almost instantly, she began to stretch her arms and legs.  Within a few days, we watched her flip over.  She had been trying to do that for days.  Once we unswaddled her, over she went!

Swaddling seems to be the thing these days.  I like doing it at night.  It is both more safe and gives the wee ones a feeling of security.

This happy little girl will have a beautiful life.  Two outdoorsy and bright parents, a loving dog who licks her face multiple times daily.  When she cries, the dog whines. The dog is quite tuned in to her.  I like that.

Rhodesian ridgebacks were developed to protect families in Africa from lions.  You can see that in the paw of these dogs.  They weigh about 75 pounds, train easily and enjoy children.

And now that I am back in my beloved home, repaired a leak in my master bath which has caused some damage, I am free to fully relax.  And count my many blessings and all the friends who called me checking up on me when I was away.

And of course, my dear little HGV.  Welcome to the world!
