Should Have Stood

My sixth grade teacher had an expression for aspects of one's day we just didn't enjoy.

"I should have stood in bed, " he would say.

Dishwasher won't empty water, despite two attempts.  Did I mention I am baking?

The phone rings and I am annoyed just having discovered nothing inside the dishwasher is dried. It is full of water, too.   I shouldn't have been annoyed, but I was.  Didn't feel like talking.  In this process (baking and sponging, I lost my kitchen sponge). Clearly, it is in another dimension.

Have we talked about that?  Other dimension?  Funny how we look and look for something and it suddenly appears in front of us. 

Oh yea, I retraced my steps.  Went into the microwave and what do you think I found?  The SPONGE.  Pulling myself together, I put the new sponge away and finished cleaning off the counter.

The spicy pumpkin cookies are baking.  Soon I will frost them with a spicy pumpkin icing.  This is a good aspect of my day.  I will focus on the good.
