Tick Tock: Six (last of the continued)

Ellen and Eric adored him immediately as did their spouses and children, Kelli’s grandchildren.  He’d play trucks and dolls on the floor for hours with them.  He was abundant with energy.  And always had open arms for Kelli.

The Aer Lingus plane arrived at the airport earlier than scheduled.   Neither Kelli nor Paddy brought laptops.  Or work.  This was their vacation. Time to access where they were in their relationship.  But both already knew.
The ride to County Cork was record time.  The jet-lagged coupled held hands nearly the whole way to the cottage. When they arrived, a neighbor had stocked the refrigerator and pantry so Kelli and Paddy could begin their much needed respite immediately.  Even the cottage was cleaned by a family friend.  Wood was neatly stacked inside the stone fireplace with an impressive reserve to the side of the hearth.  Irish strew was ready for warming and the table was set for two.  Candles included.
