Memory Lane

Somehow I have been really lucky to connect with the ole Baltimore crowd.  We grew up in the Woodlawn section near Gwynn Oak Amusement Park.  It was an eight minute walk to the park.  I spent nearly every day there as a child.  Riding the horses until my allowance ran out.

Recently, friends created a site for my neighborhood and school friends. I've been lucky to catch up on their collective lives.  And I have missed them greatly.

After seventh grade, the school district was split in half. But we get caught up in our own lives.  Over my life, I have thought about the special ones; people who touch your heart.

I loved being part of a community. Families were involved and my family especially.  At least my Dad was. Because of him, I got involved in communities after that.  I love being part of one.  But moving away provided different opportunities and some wonderful communities.

Some people live in one area their entire lives.  That was not to be the case for me.  After twenty-one years, I moved out of my family home and relocated to the D.C. suburbs.  After that I moved to upstate New York, then central New Jersey, western North Carolina and now to seacoast New Hampshire.  I've been more than lucky to meet so many varied people with their varied cultural backgrounds.  All tolled, I have lived eleven places.

11.  A sacred number.  Here are a few truths about the number one.

Aim for a career that lets you be your own boss. You're better working alone than with a group and you don't take orders well.

Avoid getting lazy just because you're frequently quicker than other people. Use that energy to explore and achieve further on your own.

Take charge, step out and risk it all on a new venture.

The adventure continues.
