New Age: Passive or Active?

What is Spiritual Growth? from Neale Donald Walsch

The “new age” movement was created decades ago to purposely induce a “passive” attitude. When you encourage people to practice certain things, they are highly unlikely to become “pro active” and instigate real change where it is required. That change would essentially entail keeping the government and corporate industry in full check. The consequences of the Vietnam war had a lot to do with the alphabet and institutionalised funding of it. Few seem to realise this.

Contentment is actually directly linked with the ego, because the ego quickly creates discontentment. You are therefore no longer content. Vicious circle. Marketing and advertising companies are purposely geared up for creating discontentment, hence the cycle of unabated consumerism. America is notably more brainwashed in this department than any other nation. It’s called corporate business for profit. This cycle depletes natural resources, and/or desperately pollutes depending on the other man made materials being created (plastics etc).

The most important practice to do is aimed at containing the ego then eradicating it. As few seem to fully understand how the ego functions, perception continues to rule the roost. Perception is more often than not shaped by an external source. In other words, the original thinking arises from another mind rather than one’s own. This is how conditioning and indoctrination function. The internet is actually a fantastic tool for maintaining the status quo.

Whilst all this new age material was being conditioned into people, the real agenda’s continued to moved forward unabated, as can be seen by today’s state of affairs, especially in America. Mission accomplished? What happened to “we the people”? How many turned to new age, whilst others turned to fundamentalism or into self serving materialists? How many people are suffering from the effects of depression and why? Is there a way out?

The most dangerous thing to teach a pliable mind is how and when to believe it’s “content”. It is the sheer distortions of truth that dictate our perceptions. How do you uncover real truth? By living in the NOW is a good start. Clearing karma (sub conscious memory) via meditation is another very important process. Catharsis is a by product of this process. Yes, past action produces simultaneous memory. How many understand what karma actually is?

When understood properly, the meditatative process is far more ancient than the new age nonsense that embodies 90 plus differing forms if meditation. Are they all safe in the longer term? No. How many are actually effective? Meditation is worthy of proper study and data dissemination.

A person who has practiced transcendental meditation (scientifically proven) for ten years is likely to achieve mid to upper Theta.. regularly. A person who has sat in a cave for thirty years, will have attained lower Delta and can control just about any aspect of the mind and body at will. This includes the autonomic systems, as American Indian Yogis running fifty miles with a ball have proven. Their heart rate is much lower upon their return than what it was before setting out.

Those who spend their life “reading” the advice of others remain positively fixated in Beta. The weakest brainwave of them all. The true power lies in Delta. It also leads directly to the kingdom within. The experiences are initially short lived. Continued practice, using the correct method that doesn’t interfere with longer term neuroplasticity, will eventually lead to a permanent change in the level of consciousness being experienced. All levels are biologically measurable. Today, many commonly use meaningful words, yet never get into the depth of the practice.

Do we not have an internet (and books) full of good intention, but lacking in the fundamental knowledge of what many like to be seen preaching? That’s the first illusion out of the way. Very few seem to understand what proper meditation actually is. The last thing the powers that be want is competition from “truly awakened individuals”. Everything today is designed to have the opposite effect. That essentially maintains the status quo. A War economy and chemically induced zombies are the order of the day.

Genuine “awakening” is conscious based, not knowledge based. It has been like this for thousands of years. A very small percentage make the breakthrough consciously. Awakening through “knowledge expansion” may increase awareness, but otherwise very little changes aside from altering people’s perceptions. This is likely why society rarely ever increases its degree of emotional intelligence. How many sites discuss emotional intelligence?
