The Site

It had been a while since Katie felt earthquakes.  After her 2010 encounter in the summer, she felt them regularly.  She felt them in 2012 in New Hampshire and 2013.  She even felt a few recently in North Carolina.  They seemed to slow down for a while.  It was like they slowed so that she could catch her breath.  While her body/mind moved to another vibration. Another frequency.  Higher this time.

She began to notice how self-contained she was.  Wanting more time in quiet. More meditation.  Less reflection.  Reflection mostly involves the past and she was more than okay with the past. She remembered the video she had watched. A compilation of UFOs investigation in the United States.

Back home, she got up early and drove past the UFO site. She had traversed this road hundreds of times. She wished she had had a Geiger counter to pick up any residual radiation from the craft just after the encounter.  

But now, the anniversary of the UFOencounter was quickly approaching. Clay and Katie decided to camp out in the area close to the mountain above.  Observe. Listen.  They even worn camouflage clothes. Parked a car a distance away and walked to the site. They would be close to the site at precisely the same time four years earlier.  9:40 p.m. This time they would have camera equipment to film the night skies.  Nothing would be left to chance.

There were even relay cars available to shuttle them to ensure no one could track them.  Their cell phones were purposely turned off.

Military planes began to circle overhead.   They were not visible but the sound of their hydraulics could be heard from the military flight path next to the encounter site.

Then it appeared.
