Since my beloved dogs passed last fall, more and more animals traverse the land I steward. At first, it was just raccoons, opossum, rats, mice, a variety of songbirds. Last week I found bear scat above the woods near the driveway.
Today when I was in the woods just near that area, I sensed a presence. I could hear a faint sound. Since I was staking four raspberry bushes, I decided to finish this for a while and come back into the house. Almost as soon as I was out of sight, the animal sound began. I thought it may be a bobcat sound so I youtubed it. It was a bobcat cry.
In the later afternoon, I was outside sprinkling the lawn for five minutes. I had just gotten inside and looked outside my studio through the window screen.
I wanted a clearer photograph and went into the sunroom for one.
The first thing I noticed was that the animals passing through are getting larger. My largest cocker spaniel was nearly thirty pounds and this bobcat was about five to ten pounds larger.
