Oh, Leo

Published on Friday, 19 July 2013 13:11

“A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest men.”
– Roald DalhCharlie and the Chocolate Factory

Ahoy! Welcome to Pirate’s Cove! Here be a shady spot to rest, some spiced rum, and hope aplenty. Stow yer blunderbuss, matey!

Why am I wearing an eye-patch and shouldering a parrot? Because on July 22nd, the Sun will move into the warm, shining sign of Leo, and Leos love to dress up and play. It’s what makes them such great dads. They’re children at heart and relate to kids so well, they often find themselves in a summer frock with a teacup in hand.

In fact, we can find a Leo at any party by simply following the sound of laughter and applause. These creative, natural-born artists were made for the stage and live to entertain. Ever hear one in the bathroom? No, they’re not them talking to themselves, they’re rehearsing.

Who doesn’t love someone who goes out of their way to make sure others are having a good time? I believe the whole world could use more of that right about now. Thankfully, Leos are here to provide a little merriment at this crucial time in history.

What a relief after the month we just had; and, the next few months we’re going to have. It’s been a bit tense, huh? Consider this sunny period the eye of the emotional hurricane that’s swirling around us—though, it may be dark on the horizon, and many people are still toweling off from last month, at least we have bright skies today.

I’d like folks to down-shift for the next few weeks. Have some fun. Play. Get out the kid’s finger-paints and go to town. It’s by expressing our imagination that we learn who we are in relation to everyone and everything else. So, dig through the Tickle Trunk, put on a beret and a black and white, striped shirt, talk in a French accent, and paint by the river Seine…oui?

After last month’s Mercury retrograde in super-sensitive Cancer, who couldn’t use some time to relax? Though it hurts to have our heart-strings strung out for everyone to see, try not to stress out too much—it’s all part of this year’s collective healing process. I know, it sucks. Hopefully, people are spiritually healthier than they were in the Spring because we need to be in good, psychic shape for Autumn.

Our recent Soul Storm* was just a taste of what’s to come. By November, most of the sleeping masses will be waking up to who has been keeping them down (they already are), and the tears are just going to fall and fall. Remember waking up? It’s a wonder anyone ever stops crying after realizing they’ve been preyed on from the shadows for centuries. It’s that ‘Neo in the Matrix’ moment when we suddenly snap out of the illusionary world and see that we’re being farmed. It feels like a sucking gut-wound where the bottom drops out of our life and nothing makes sense anymore.

It cuts even deeper to find the knife in the heart of Humanity is being held by those we should have been able to trust. Almost all of our political leaders, our entertainment idols, our heroes, and great thinkers have sold out long ago. Not all, but most; and the holdouts don’t say anything as they live in fear of losing their upper-middle class lifestyle. Not much in the way of a friend there. The scope of it is truly stunning when we first wake up from the New World Order’s stark, raving nightmare.

The best way to heal from the Matrix, from all that anger and resentment, is to stop putting any more energy into their corrupt system. Find center again. By so doing, we also find the rest of the Universe.

While we’re at it, let’s do what any good Leo would do: sing, dance, and laugh our ass off. Oh! And heave to, matey! Avast, and break out the rum!
~ Cusp Moon in Aquarius ~

I was impressed by the sheer volume of mail I received last month over spilling the secret of Cancer. I had no idea that many of us were looking for the occult Light. I guess I thought if people weren’t trying to find the Lady’s Temple, there wasn’t much point in putting out more than a few candles. Then again, I didn’t know the Path to the Sanctuary had become overgrown and wild. I’ll try and keep the way clear a little more often.
So? Want another rusty, dusty secret from the vaults of the Illuminati?

Okay, here goes: the signs really count from 10 degrees of one sign to 10 degrees of the next sign. That means if we were born 3 degrees of Virgo, let’s say, it might be a good idea to read Leo’s horoscope in the newspaper, too.

Now, before I get a volley of mail telling me I’m full of shite, I want to point out that it doesn’t mean that a person born in the first decan of one sign is actually from the solar tribe before it. It’s all just mystical psychology, after all. It’s my way of saying, ‘Nudge, nudge, wink, wink’, there’s something to see here.
Simply put, it points to a hidden truth to who we are in this life by studying the preceding sign. It’s a karmic insight that directly relates to one’s reincarnational cycle. A bit like Chiron, but without all the tears.
I bet those in the advanced Awake and Aware 102 class can see why the Illuminati held onto that little gem. Not only have they tried to divide and conquer us in this life, but they have tried to sever our connection to our other lives, too. Doncha jus’ wanna hug ‘em to pieces?

Well, anyhoo, here we have a Full Moon on the cusp between Capricorn and Aquarius at 0 degrees. What could that mean?

If we start with the above premise, it’s an easy call:

The Full Moon in Aquarius, the Witch’s key for this lunar cycle, contains the seeds from last month’s Full Moon in Capricorn. It indicates we’re not quite done with recent financial concerns, practical stuff around the house, or even a legal matter. Expect delays in order to make sure things get done right. Though it’s important to honor this Moon’s Aquarian need to connect with everyone, it would be wise to continue to be conservative in other areas.

The Moon also goes full on the same day as the Sun enters Leo and Mercury into Virgo. That’s one charged, capable Moon! On one hand, it beams proudly with good vibes for all, and on the other hand, is soaked in sensible, productive undercurrents. The New Sun will drive the Moon’s desire to inspire and find common ground; yet, it will also help keep it real.

If we find ourselves in need of inner healing, especially any past psychic wounds, now would be a good time to get to work. The Moon will be conducive to helping us find the parts we thought were missing, and then moving on from any old baggage.

As the Sun, Earth, and Moon line up on July 22nd, our Feminine and Masculine will be afforded a chance to become One again, if only for a short while. A witty Witch would do well to meditate on Unity and Healing as the Full Aquarian Moon rises—on this eve, thar be Magick afoot!

~ Uranus takes Five ~
It’s been a blast! Uranus has been lighting the fire of revolution under our sleeping butts for the last two years. And, we’re now turning our backs on the New World Order’s promise of a faster, safer (and indentured) future. Who knew we had it in us to tell Big Daddy to take a flying leap once and for all?
All we had to do was tear down our fences, talk with our neighbors again, get rid of our TVs, see that money doesn’t mean anything, quit eating microwaved, GMO burritos, stop asking others to do our thinking for us, and realize that credit cards don’t love us back.

People have been floundering along with this depraved, ‘dollars and sense’, plastic eco-system until Uranus (fundamental, social change) moved into Aries (the Self) back in 2011. It showed us the true cost of doing business with neo-cons: the loss of our Soul. Uranus has been inciting rebellion ever since.

Weeellllll….. This mighty, mover and shaker of our social world just went retrograde and will stay so until Winter Solstice. Uranus is taking a break from all that upheaval for a few months while we work on deeper, emotional issues.

One of the reasons some of the recent freedom movements have faltered is that many people are still not free on the inside. How liberated can we be when we’re still carrying around old wounds? We need to heal and become whole in order to instill the same in future generations.

From now until December 17th, especially around October and November, we will have a chance to do just that. We will begin to experience an inner mental peace so that we can care for any psychic injuries, make peace with our past, and finally move on with the New Age of Aquarius.

~ Mars gets Huggy with It ~

At the beginning of August, Mars will trine both the North Node (karmic lessons) and Chiron (karmic wounds). I’d say run for the hills but Mars is about to use His martial gifts to fire us up with healing energy in both areas. We’re getting some Love and Balance this month—ready for it or not!

It’s unusual for Mars to be in this position as most of the time He’s looking for a competitive, kick-boxing match; but, as the month gets underway, he’s all about fiery regeneration. It’s sort of like the guy who tries to be tender with his lover by pulling a sliver from her foot, and ends up grappling her to the floor to do it.
Plus, Mars is in Cancer. It often means domestic squabbling will come bubbling to the surface, but, at the moment, Mars’ strength is being balanced by our need to move on spiritually. Or, karmically. Or, both…or, at least seeing the big picture.

It’s time to do likewise and let our guard down a bit. Try to be more giving this month; help a neighbor carry in her groceries; look for the good in others; and share wisdom. Reward any good deeds, too. Focusing on being selfless is an admirable goal, but it’s important to honor the Divine Masculine, too.

Also, rejoice in the miracles of others and let them know how much they matter to us. We have such wonderful companions to share our journey, and that needs to be said out loud once and awhile.

~ Take a ride on the Giant Tea-cups! ~

On August 7th, just as Mercury (mind) enters Leo (creativity), Jupiter in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn. Normally, oppositions with the outer planets can bring about a lot of collective and personal strife, but this month it’s more like choosing between something wonderful and something awesome. However, there is a proviso here: be careful of flip-flopping, too.

There’s bound to be some confusion as we try to decide between a bigger Heart and a bigger Soul. We can only successfully put energy into one at the moment, and that’s a tough choice. The result may make us a little floopy.

This aspect can bring about a bold, new direction in life, but be careful of being over-zealous with it.
Reaching enlightenment is no reason to start a new cult, for example. Take all the new breakthroughs with a grain of salt and let them balance out in time.

In other words, walk lightly, but carry a big smile.

~ If Anyone asks, I’ll be in my Hammock ~

This month, I chose the song ‘Wash Away’ by Joe Purdy to remind people to chill out. We all have our woes; and though we can learn a lot from our troubles, it’s just as important to learn from our joys. Not everything in life need be a lesson.

My advice, pretty much for the entire month of Leo, is to stop and smell the hibiscus. Try not to take everything so seriously, get outdoors, and soak up some rays. Or, bounce a balloon, fly a kite, jump in some puddles, or tell a joke to a stranger. Life’s worries will still be there tomorrow.

Just for today, though, follow your Heart’s fancy. Take a cruise and explore a tropical paradise island. Even if that means a backyard vacation with hubby in a grass-skirt, some homemade Mai Tais, and putting up an umbrella in the kid’s sandbox.

I’ll see you on the beach.

Blessed Be,
~Zooey

It's Not A Monkey Mind

Let's be honest.  It isn't a monkey mind.  It is a runaway train!

How often have all of us been frustrated with others, thought people didn't like us and then found delightful surprises from friends?  We get so focused inside our own pea brains ~ ego on espresso and we forget to just let things be as they are.  We may not agree with what is going on and our energy can send that out to the universe.  Just be sure you let it go.  Don't let it put you in knots.

That is where the joy comes in.  Loving yourself enough.  To let others be where they are.  Being comfortable with oneself.  Loving others where they are.  You know they get in knots just like you do.
So, tie a knot and hang on. This, too, shall pass.

Meandering

It is one of my favorite words. Wandering.  Aimlessly.  There is nothing like meandering.  Discovering a new or familiar place.  Exploring new territories.  Uncovering.

A barn with a tin roof, rusted from days gone by.  Unfinished  windows, doors.  Maybe a tractor in the yard.  Sometimes it is open space, pristine.  Pastures.

Sometimes spotting a sustainably built home
but you never know just what you will find when you meander.
I particularly like the stone fences.  They were built when there was no lumber due to the fact,  lumber fences would rot with the New England snows.

In the 19th century, these fences were inspected to ensure they were structurally sound. Limestone, granite or gneiss were used as these rocks were abundant in New England.  They were left over when the glaciers melted in New England.

Off to meander.   Again.

Life In The Wilderness

Life in the wilderness is intriguing. What is especially appealing is the quiet, simple lifestyle. It is a wonderful environment to bring our the creative.  Nature provides so much entertainment, learning, observing.  It all follows one's own learning curve, too. The only clock is your inner one.

Living in the woods requires some inner resolve. The ability to be with yourself rather than escape to the town or city when the going gets tough. There is no one else to count on.  There is you and you learn the joys and hardships of being with self.  Privacy. Totally.

There is a value in learning not to escape oneself.  Labels fall away. There is no timetable other than the seasonal one. You quickly learn to prepare for the changing seasons, lots of time alone.  Thoughts slow down.  You learn what really matters.  The endless brain chatter slows. You learn how to decide upon what you want to think about. You use your thoughts well.  There is little distraction.  Discernment in all things important is key.

Tomorrow I look at cabins with land.

Being Home

These are trying times for sure. The story lines are not new.  The powerful steal through laws they create and the populace stands by and allows it to happen.  Some of us actually stand up. Sometimes incremental changes happen but for the most part, it is business as usual.  Citizenship requires participation.

Finding the beauty in our daily lives requires participation, too.  It requires balance, perspective, humor.  How often have we missed an opportunity to breathe in a scene like the one above?  How often have we left our homes only to go outside angry, frustrated, bored?  We all participate in this.  Otherwise we wouldn't know it so well.

It is a cool, cloudy day in seacoast New England. The flora is full of color and I am more than grateful for my family and friends.  I am grateful to my readers for taking the time to stop by.

I do have a request.  I would like you to participate in this blog by dropping me a note, letting me know how you are, your thoughts, how you participate in your citizenship.

Thank you so much!

It's Not The Same: It Is The Same

It's not the same experience being a Mother living in an apartment as it is in a single family home.  While I know it is a mindset, a socialized way I have become, it feels as though I am in a holding tank of sorts.  Waiting for my NC house to sell, thinking about the next step. Where would I like to buy?  What town?  A cabin.  A carriage house.  Something maintenance free.  Maybe something I build.  Lots of maybes.

But I am not there yet.  Not lots of places.  Here I am.  Where I am.  Isn't that always the case?  We spend our lives wanting things to be different than they are.  All the while, we are missing those precious breaths, those precious moments.  The magnificent scenery of life.

Sometimes were are bored.  Bored mostly of ourselves because we are not ready to move forward.  We get bored because we want others to do our homework. We want them to keep us busy so we don't have to learn the inner peace.

It is harder for the extraverts.  They get their energy from others.  Little did we know the introverts have it all.  They come from within.  A good place to start.  Whether you are an introvert or extrovert moving forward begins when we have had enough of boredom, enough of self-pity, enough of waiting for our lives to begin.  Enough of our own inner frustration.

The reality has always been we are more than enough. Who says you have to be friendly or outgoing?  You are who you are and that is more than good enough.  Be kind, considerate, gentle, loving.  It takes all of us to be a community.

You are the one you've been waiting for.

P.S.  Because it has been so often requested, I am including the TED x Charleston video with Simran Singh in Conversations With The Universe.

Enjoy.

Mixing It Up

Art in its many forms is a journey into yourself.  Some artists enjoy design and sewing.

Some find themselves in painting watercolors.

Others wait for that special moment, just as the sun dances on the waves.  The camera captures the likeness and the moment is forever preserved.

Some write because they have to.

"Then the sky lights vanished as I followed the circuitous road into the forest canopy.
Reaching the  bottom of the basin, I turned left toWebster Road which followed the
Tuckaseegee River to the highway.  I was the lone car on the road. For the entire trip.
I hadn’t gone more than a couple hundred feet before I saw it. Almost immediately,
I turned my head looking all around me. Where was everyone?"

Love This Town!

I have to.  Tell you more about this cute town.  People are invested here.  They enjoy preserving tradition.  The Exeter UFO Festival is here honoring abductees, Betty and Barney Hill.  Because of the fire in the Town Hall, it won't be held in 2013.  Next year.
But there are lots of other things going on. Weekly concerts, a walk down Swazey Parkway, lattes at any of the wonderful cafes, lunch at the organic restaurant, Blue Moon Evolution, and dinner anywhere in town.  It is all good.
Yup, this feels like home.

Where The Magic Beings!

Fall found the end of July as a cool front reached the New England seacoast.

I love this little town.  Old, quaint, historical.  It has a presence.  It isn't where I sleep but I could.  Easily. There is the Phillips Academy. And below that, the Green Bean Cafe.  The courtyard at the Green Bean is a lovely place to cool off in the summer.
Above, the IOKA Theatre as you see in the video above.  It needs a new owner and lots of rehabilitation.  The right set of people could just do it. Soon.

Of course, there is the weekly farmer's market, too. I think I found...home.

Memphis Belle

Today, while surfing the television, I saw the film, Memphis Belle listed.  It brought back memories and I would like to share them with you.

Many of you know I took flying lessons.  My plane, a Cessna,  was nothing like this.  A number of years ago, I saw a replica of the original Memphis Belle, which I am told, is the one in the photo below.

The Andrews-Murphy Airport had an air show and I couldn't wait to go.  Always fascinated with aviation, this particular model was intriguing.  I won't spoil the ending of the film, but what happened was magic!

The pilot allowed anyone willing on this very hot day to climb around inside the plane. It is enough to give even the non-claustrophic person...claustrophia.

Back to the film.

The Courage To Grow

He had known him most of his life.  It wasn't just because they were neighbors.  Just because his children grew up with Sergei, but Mr. Knowles was keen. It is often said that psychic and intuitive people have a sense of radar for those with the same keen ability.  Knowles saw that in Sergei even as a young child.  But it needed developing.  Sergei would possess great humanity.  In time.

As the years passed, Mr. Knowles moved out of town and their paths crossed from time to time. Mostly when Mr. Knowles or Tenzin as he is known in the Buddhist community reached out to Sergei. Tenzin knew when Sergei was ready, their paths would cross. Energy is like that.

They had kept in touch with detailed letters about their families, work, sports.  Even sometimes, how things were going emotionally.  Tenzin wasn't one to pry.  Especially now since he was a monk in Thich Nhat Hanh's, the Order of Interbeing.

Then as they were both rounding the corner in Times Square in New York City at precisely the same day, same hour, same moment.

"Tenzin!  I've been thinking about you," Sergei said.

"I know.  It is time," Tenzin replied.

"You've been troubled.  I know this because I feel it.  Because I also have aspects of this," Tenzin said.

"Always one to read me," Sergei said.

"I'm always in the same place.  Stuck," Sergei said.

"Are you stuck, or are your thoughts stuck?"

Sergei was at once silent.  He thought on that.  Speechless. He lowered his head. At first he sobbed.  The tears wouldn't stop.  He cried for what he didn't know.  Understand.  He cried for humanity, then he learned to cry for himself.  The wasted years.

Tenzin's face softened looking toward Sergei as he lifted his eyes with a smile.

Sergei rambled through his list about what was wrong with the world, people, friends. Suddenly he stopped. Got quiet. Pensive.

"Did you think these were new issues in the world ? What are you doing to quiet the mind?" Tenzin continued.

Sergei was still.  The synapses were firing.  He began to understand. It begins and ends with him.

"I'm just a reminder.  These things, well, they have not changed.  We were down that road the last time we met.  Are you lost?"

Help Me

This is a conversation with Simran Singh.  It is her story, your story, my story.  Many years ago I got off the treadmill.  My marriage was empty, I yearned for simplicity.  I was able to change all of that.

Many wonderful things happened over the years.  Then I had a UFO encounter.  I know why I awakened two seconds before 1 a.m. with just two hours of sleep.  I've always known.

"Wake up - be ready."

You are the one you've been waiting for." Enjoy

Lunch!

Organic lunch.

A dreary, rainy day.  What could be better than to create something. I already made tiny chocolate blueberry squares.  But stomach tells me it is time to eat. Lunch. But what?
A summer salad.  In the winter it could be warmed.

The Ingredients ~ all organic

Combine:

celery
tomatoes
cukes
grapes
greek yogurt

Add:

basil
curry
black pepper
squirt fresh lemon
a dash of olive oil
honey to taste

Enjoy!

Cozy and Comfy

Don't you love the sound of rain cascading down a waterspout?  That tin sound reminds me of childhood.  Those luscious moments when all you have to do is 'be.'  Listen to the melodic tapping.  The skies are gray and I am more than content to be inside.  I will bake in a while.  It is a day to enliven the senses!

Morning came early as one my dogs escaped her little room.  She does that often by pulling the gate toward her.  After six months houdini figured it out.  I can't scold her.  With her wagging tail and happy face, it is delightful to be greeted by her.  The other dog follows the rules and stays behind the gate. I release her quickly so she, too, can enjoy the fun.

Morning begins in one of my favorite rooms. Some rooms are downright comfy.  You can't wait to go into them.  The colors resonate, the textures.  The artwork.  That is how my second bedroom is for me.

The reds, corals, aqua and green with a little cream blend softly.  The valances over the window remind me of some of the wonderful places I stayed in England.

Now for a spot of tea.

Three Years Ago - Up...In The Sky

It was just three years ago, I had my first UFO encounter.  The windows were longer than is pictured here.  There were narrow. It hovered about thirty-five feet off the ground.  I drove under it.

Terror in Hampton!

Hampton, New Hampshire.  A small, quaint beach town.  Until yesterday.  It was 2 p.m.  After a fun day of kayaking, I was coming off I-95 from Portsmouth, NH.  There were 4-6 motorcycles on the road, a very safe distance from me.  I entered Rt. 27 going toward Hampton.

A heavy set man in a Harley Davidson sleeveless vest was driving a motorcyle.  He pulled to the left side of my vehicle crossing the double yellow line and now in the lane of opposing traffic with his right arm outstretched and pointing to the right side of the road and yelled, "pull over.'  Of course, I didn't adhere to this lunatic's demands.

He cut in front of my vehicle, and was now on the right side screaming,"pull over."  He was forcing me into the left lane to escape him. This went on for about two minutes as he criss crossed my vehicle. He had no license plate.

Picking up my cell phone he zoomed ahead of me.  He was afraid I was calling the police which I did.

Nearly a day later, I am still more than upset.  Another phone call to the Hampton Police Department yielded no information.  The Seacoast Online news is apparently not interested either.

We know who these people really serve and it is not the taxpayers or the customers.

Wherever You Are

Scorpio..."Your home, or a family matter, will be the focus of your attention on or within four days of the full moon in Aquarius (0 degrees) on July 21. This full moon seems to bring up an important decision about where to live, in what style, or concern the well-being of a parent. If you have been renovating, the contractor may be at an end now, and you will soon have your apartment or house back."

In many ways, these are hard times.  People seem to be really annoyed with others lately.  I find that is the case as well.  Road rage, internal strife, uncertainly.  Fear.  Where to be.

The last few days, my imported New England friends have talked about what it is like to move to New England.  Nearly everyone says the same thing.

"Well, they are just not friendly."

Part of that is because we were settled in our last communities.  We had our network of friends.  Now we have to start over.  Warm climate people are just friendlier. They aren't in a hurry to get out of the cold. Being in a warm climate doesn't make them better friends.  It does make them more friendly.

Florida is a state of imports.  Some areas are very New Yawk City, brusque, some not. But you have to look beyond that.  We make our community by being fully who we are.  And by allowing geographical, climactic differences.  It is the person within that counts.

I learned long ago, home is wherever you are. Wherever you are.

Slow Down, New England!!

The rudest drivers have to live in New England!

At 2 p.m. today, I was road raged by a Harley motorcyclist. Behind him were another 4-5 motorcycles. This violent man didn't like the fact I was in front of him and his buddies.  He pulled across the double line to the left and yelled, "pull over.'  Of course, I didn't adhere to this lunatic's demands.

Again, he screamed, "pull over" as he cut across my vehicle now on the right side of me forcing me into the left lane to escape him.  Picking up my cell phone he zoomed ahead of me.  He was afraid I was calling the police which I did.

Nearly 80 minutes later, my heart is still pounding.  What is with these people and road rage?!

Slow down, New England.  Get a grip.  Try some courtesy.  Cool your tempers.  I hope the police are waiting for you!

Ground Cherry Tomatoes

A few months ago, I went to the Wentworth Gardens in Dover, NH.  I was looking for a cherry tomato to grow in a container.  The only thing I found was one marked 'ground cherry.' They fall to the ground about a week before they ripen. Keeping them at room temperature for a week will ripen them. They are encased in a husk which is unusual.

They can be used in sweet and savory recipes.

"Small orange fruit similar in size and shape to a cherry tomato; the fruit is covered in papery husk. Flavor is a pleasant, unique tomato / pineapple like blend.

The ground cherry is very similar to the Cape gooseberry, both having similar, but unique flavors.
Small shrub similar to the common tomato can be grown as an annual or perennial.

Plants are usually small, only 1-3ft in height. They enjoy full sun, fairly warm (but not hot) temperatures, and protection from frost. In areas where frost or freezes occur, plants are easily grown as annuals.
Provide lots of water throughout the growing year, except towards fruit ripening time."

On Fame And Self Promotion

There is a virus spreading faster than than wildfire.  It's the fame game.  Often these people don't have enough of their own experiencers so they ride the coat tails of those who do, those who did.

That is particularly an issue in the UFO community.  Some are really good researchers.  They follow the facts and tell everyone else's story.  I know a few personally like that. They are clandestine, it's all about them, self-promotion ad infinitum! That theme runs through most of them.

They want you to know they have information you don't have. There is a sneakiness to them. But they are telling biographies and making lots of money off it.  Books ultimately come, speaking engagements, conferences. It isn't so much about sharing knowledge as it is about self-promotion. One only has to listen to them speak, or read their work.  It is a real turn off for this writer.

Maybe I feel this way in part, it is because I AM AN EXPERIENCER.  I had a UFO encounter.  I don't care or want my name out there.  I am merely a conduit.  My experience must be shared.  You have a right to know about it.  When you have seen something to which your government has lied about forever, you want folks to know the truth.  You are the truth.

We are not alone.

From The Lens

It's been a interesting couple of weeks learning the language of the lens. Learning how to tell a story.  Which way to move the camera.  When to zoom, when to be still. What your eye sees versus what the lens sees.

www.vitecvideocom.com

There are lots of hours viewing the work of the French cinematographer, Philippe Rousselot.  I've always loved his work, especially the film, A River Runs Through It.  There are others. It is important to observe as many as possible.  Until you get the idea how you want to tell your story. Ultimately, you find your own eyes, your own voice.

I tend to lean toward the nature cinematographers. Nestor Almendros is known for using natural light. The Tree of Life, written and directed by cinematographer, Terrance Malick, was filmed by Emmanuel Lubezki was magnificent.  The trick seems to be in keeping the tone level throughout.

To watch these artists is to touch grace.

The Other Side

Have you ever felt something so deep inside you can't cry?  Then little by little you let it out.  One burst at a time.
The idea of my child living herself hormone shots sometimes is more than I can bear.  Yet, I am grateful for the technology that produces a baby.  But I am her Mom and I worry.

I'm trying to divert myself from this.  In so doing, I explore other blogs.  The first one I reach, is a Mom who just gave birth to her baby.

I'll take it as a sign.

Making A Baby

It's two days before the injection training begins.  My emotions are a bit raw right now.  Maybe it is because it has been a long haul.  Maybe because I am sick and tired of being a single parent.  There were two of us in this equation.  The other has chosen to consume his self-consumption.  But we won't talk about that here or anywhere else.  It is what it is.

There is a world of possibilities out there.  Baby Louise started it all as did the researchers who made it all possible.  People tell me of their successes and I really appreciate hearing about them.

This is a world unfamiliar to me.  Pregnancy was a piece of cake and I am more than lucky and grateful for  my children.  Every day.  Every moment.
.

But my world is now one of understanding protocols for pregnancy, birth control pill start/stop dates, learning to give injections, a variety of shots, implantation, and a pregnancy test.  Some hormones come pre-mixed, some need to be combined in the injection vial.  No doubt we will learn it all.  No doubt we will be successful.

I am happy and appreciative to be able to be here.  Alongside my child as she begins another journey in her life.  Making a baby.  Who knew.

Wow.

Nana's Journey Into IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization)

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which an egg is fertilised by sperm outside the body: in vitro. IVF is a major treatment for infertility when other methods of assisted reproductive technology have failed. The process involves monitoring a woman's ovulatory process, removing ovum or ova (egg or eggs) from the woman's ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a fluid medium in a laboratory. When a woman's natural cycle is monitored to collect a naturally selected ovum (egg) for fertilisation, it is known as natural cycle IVF. The fertilised egg (zygote) is then transferred to the patient's uterus with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy. The first successful birth of a "test tube baby", Louise Brown, occurred in 1978.

Louise Brown was born as a result of natural cycle IVF. Robert G. Edwards, the physiologist who developed the treatment, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2010.

The term in vitro, from the Latin meaning in glass, is used, because early biological experiments involving cultivation of tissues outside the living organism from which they came, were carried out in glass containers such as beakers, test tubes, or petri dishes. Today, the term in vitro is used to refer to any biological procedure that is performed outside the organism it would normally be occurring in, to distinguish it from an in vivo procedure, where the tissue remains inside the living organism within which it is normally found. A colloquial term for babies conceived as the result of IVF, "test tube babies", refers to the tube-shaped containers of glass or plastic resin, called test tubes, that are commonly used in chemistry labs and biology labs. However, in vitro fertilisation is usually performed in the shallower containers called Petri dishes. One IVF method, Autologous Endometrial Coculture, is actually performed on organic material, but is still considered in vitro.

Now that you understand how it works, let me tell you that one of my children is about to undergo this procedure. I'll begin by telling you how nervous I am.  The hormone shots, the manipulation of nature gives this Nana lots of worries.  If the procedure works, she has one in three changes of having twins.  The twins are the fun part.  The former plays hard on my stomach. My brain.  Her bodymind.

I love my children dearly.  I'd do anything for them. I thought teaching them to drive was the hardest thing I did.  Little did I know.

Soon I learn how to administer shots.  Injections.  Four a day actually.  She will master the art. I will accompany her as a second set of eyes and ears. And stable legs.

My faithful readers, please pray for her.  That she is healthy and has a healthy baby.

Thank you.

Too Soon?

From the moment I first saw them, the Smokies called me home.  There is a warmth there that words can not express. Fall there is more beautiful than one could imagine.  It spills out into everything. One color blending into another.  As nature intended.

Last summer, this lovely home went up for sale.  As much as I was ready to release it (after all, I completed the paperwork) the universe seems to hold onto it.  Maybe my heart holds it more than I know.  In an earlier post, "Between Yes And No" I spoke about the colors between decisions.  And all the space between yes and no. Releasing this was one of my hardest decisions.

This winter, I expect to return to my beloved mountains, still keeping this northern seacoast home as well. Like everything, it is always subject to change.  The universe will release it if and when the time is right.

I wonder how it will feel to return.   I wonder.

Wonder.

Between Yes And No

There is a lot of space between YES and NO.

The colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.  The same colors that are on our chakras.  When we reach the violet frequency, there is white light.  It is the ultimate energy!

There was a time when things seemed more definitive.  A simple YES, a simple NO.  Those words can open whole new world for you.  They can make you safe, silly or sad.

Like the range in the spectrum above, there is a lot of room.  But only you can decide. At which color will you resonate?

Deception: YOU Can't Handle The Truth

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave...when first we practice to deceive.”

            - Walter Scott, Marmion

When the focus is power and greed, the goal is always to deceive. The military does this, the media does this, the corporations do this.  Money matters.

When was the last time an editor allowed a journalist to tell the whole truth?

Every once in a while, an editor stands up. When they do, they care more about the truth than they do money or their jobs.  Unfortunately, that is not usually the case.  The media survives because they are owned by large corporations.  The corporations tell them what to print.  If advertisers don't like what the media spews, they remove their ads.  Ads pay the bills.

Do you think you will get the real story listening to the media?  Think again.

Not Unique Times

These are not unique times.  One must simply read history, live history to know this.  History is the story of people usurping others. The rich continue to steal from those that aren't.  It isn't new. It isn't new that people think the only problem is the thieves.  Sure, it would be all nice and tidy to say that, but it just isn't so.

Equal to this situation are the masses who allow it. They gripe, complain, put posters on Facebook, write Letters to the Editor, speak up in chat rooms, send anonymous notes but the story is always the same.

Evil prospers when good people do nothing.  To believe otherwise is pure fantasy.  To live through rose colored glasses.

If you want change, you have to be the change.  Simple as that.

In Time...Somewhere

It happened again last night.  Sometime between two and four o'clock in the morning.  That is when we are in reactive eye movement sleep (REM)  We are between two worlds.  When our conscious minds don't destroy our choices, all that could be, we find each other.

He is younger than I and we don't care about that. We care about our ideas, our hearts.  We can't seem to find each other in our waking hours.

"Hi, is it really you?"

His smile was warm and kind and generous.  Sitting at the top of the landing, he is waiting for me.

"It's been too long," he says.

"This time, I am not going to let you go."

I fight awakening.  Don't dare open my eyes for it may all go away.  Like it did the last time.  For some reason, my brain wants but can not sequence this.  I absolutely do not know when I last saw him.  Somewhere in the twilight.  The netherworld.

He's wearing a white shirt, dark pants.I know he is a dentist, teaching in an academic institution.  I don't know how I even know that.  But I do.

Morning came again too soon.  I couldn't find him last night.

Maybe tonight.

The Adventure In Doing Nothing

Ever wondered why we are called human beings?  Because we are meant to 'be' and not to 'do.'  Children can often be found sitting on a stoop.  Doing absolutely nothing.  They bend over and discover an ant making its way across the concrete.  That very act of observing fills them up.  They aren't bored, they are 'be'ing.

The back steps were such a place.  I would sit there for such a long time, observing the woods behind our home.  The woods was where I spent the bulk of my time growing up.  Often alone.  It always felt safe there.  It hasn't changed much in the years, either.  I'm still drawn to the woods.

Then there was the flagstone pool my Dad built in our backyard.  There was nothing more refreshing than taking a dip in it.  It was a small pool, but felt large in my world back then. No major thoughts, just lots of 'be'ing.  I'm still drawn to water.

There is a purity that can be found in 'be'ing.  There is no place to go because you are already there.

What's Happening...North Carolina?!

It's been a year since I left my beloved state.  The oceans, piedmont and mountains are more stunning than they have a right to be.  People flock there because of the diversity of the land. An awesome place with awesome people.

The events of the past year have made a lot of people in North Carolina unhappy.  The Democrats blame the Republicans.  The Republicans blame the Democrats.  The Republicans are now in power.  This writer doesn't believe it is a partisan issue.  It is an issue of ideology, responsibility and honesty.  There is a lot of corruption going on and this includes all sides.  So partisans, you do not have my support.  I will support a new design that reflects the growth and development of the people.  Not those in 'power.'

Few really 'get it.'  Make it a partisan issue and you will continue to divide the people.  It is immature thinking for an immature populace.

A recent New York Times Editorial said, "North Carolina was once considered a beacon of farsightedness in the South, an exception in a region of poor education, intolerance and tightfistedness. In a few short months, Republicans have begun to dismantle a reputation that took years to build.

I am sick and tired of the partisanness going on. Everywhere, not just North Carolina. It takes two.  It took two to get this far.  Apart.  It was not always this way.  It will take two to move closer together.

You ask why more people are not continuing the civil disobedience in Raleigh?  We are not meant to be obedient.  This is not the kingdom of the serf and lord.  This is supposed to be a democracy.  For way too long you have bought what those in power want you to believe.  Lots has been held from you.

It is time to wake-up, create a society you can live with.  Liberty.  Government was never designed to fix everything.  It wasn't designed for the corporation.  It was designed for the people but all that has changed.

Be the change.  I do not know one North Carolinian who has protested in Raleigh on Moral Mondays. I know lots who complain about it.  It takes warm bodies to be counted to force a change. But first, you have to decide what your platform is.  And friends, this platform isn't, won't work.  It will ensure more of the same.

If you really want liberty, then go get it.  Until then, quit whining.

One Year

This is my home one year ago today.  Flowers from a dear friend, a dog crate and a blow up mattress in the other room. That was about it.  A few weeks later, the furniture arrived.
A year later, things have warmed up quite a bit.  I've done some art work, even bought a flat screen tv.  Friends have visited, family has been here a bunch, gone to the beach nearly every day.  I'm thoroughly enjoying the seacoast of New England during the warmer months.

Where will winter find me?  We'll have to wait and see.
