What The Rain Tells Us

Rain, rain and more rain.  When we ask the universe for a few dry days,  we greet the rain with appreciation. Driving along an elevated road on coast this morning, I saw this sign.

The road was some 25 - 30 feet  above sea level descending to 5 feet above sea level. Sometimes it is just plain fun to be outside in the rain.  Today is one of those kind of days.  The steady almost tin-like sound of the silvery threads of rain tapping the roof line - a melody.  It is more than enjoyable. Days like that remind us of the little things we so often miss.  Like the tiny organic tomatoes forming on the vine in the container on the balcony.  It's such goodness!

No doubt in a few weeks, the tomatoes will be ready.  The basil is doing well.  A little mozzarella with basil and tomato on a rainforest cracker and that will be one delicious snack!

Rainy days are such a gift.  They remind us to slow down and notice the little things.
